I am an assistant professor at the Paris Observatory and the University Paris Diderot.
I try to understand how galaxies form and evolve. Some questions I try to answer are: Why some galaxies keep forming stars while others just die (quench)? How is this related to the galaxy structure/morphology?
Astronomy is experiencing a true revolution with the emergence of huge photometric and spectroscopic surveys. My research is at the heart of this transition to the big-data era. I work both in analyzing data and in developing new and innovative tools to deal with massive datasets from current and future space and ground-based facilities.
